How To Stay Cool On Your Hot Savannah, GA Tour

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Savannah Heritage Tours gives visitors of Savannah, GA, the chance to see many of the finest aspects of the city. Our small, personalized tours are led by veteran tour guide Angela Sergi. Guests who book any of our tours will enjoy a comfortable and informative experience while learning more about our fascinating city.

What Angela Does Differently

Angela’s approach is different from other tour companies that offer less personal experiences. Guests who book a tour with Angela are taken for a relaxing ride in an air-conditioned bus. This gives our guests the chance to escape the hot and muggy summer heat while seeing the best sites of the city. She also takes smaller groups of people at a time in order to give each tour a friendlier, more intimate feel. All of her tours are thorough and include detailed information on the entire Historic District and other parts of the city. Angela also does not believe in using scripts or recordings and knows how to make every tour a highly personalized experience.

Angela’s Experience

Angela has been a tour guide since 1992 and is also the owner of Savannah Heritage Tours. Born and raised in Savannah, she draws upon her experience and knowledge of the local history to put together the best tours imaginable. Her previous experience working for other local trolley tour companies has allowed her to learn all the angles of the city’s tour industry. Angela’s commitment to continuing her education in the city’s history along with her connections to local historical societies make her the perfect guide.

An Alternative to Trolley Tours

Even though it may seem like a fun idea to take a tour aboard a trolley, these tours are often crowded and uncomfortable. These trolleys also do not include air conditioning, which can create unpleasant conditions on the hottest and muggiest days. Plus, these trolleys often drop guests off at certain points and sometimes require people to wait 20 to 40 minutes for another trolley to arrive to take them to their next destination. Hopping off and on trolleys will limit the number of sites that people are able to see in a day. Angela’s tours do not require guests to go through any of these inconveniences.

Tour Highlights

Guests who take one of Angela’s tours will have the opportunity to see some of the most important sites around the city. In addition to seeing Savannah’s Historic District, tours also include visits to the Victorian District and the coastal islands. The Bonaventure Cemetery, which dates back more than 150 years, is another tour highlight. Guests even have the option of taking the "Midnight" Book and Movie Tour.

At the End of the Tour

After touring much of the city and seeing many of the best historical sites, museums and restaurants aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, Angela gives guests the option of being dropped off wherever they would like. During the tour, she will also point out all of the city’s free shuttle stops for people who need access to reliable public transportation.
